ADRA Australia is seeking an experienced and strategic Op Shop Development Manager to drive the strategic growth, sustainability, and impact of ADRA’s Op Shops across Australia.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Drive operational excellence by strengthening governance, systems, and processes to ensure each Op Shop is financially sustainable and well-managed.
Support and empower volunteers, donors, and stakeholders through capacity building and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Leverage data and proactive management to identify growth opportunities, improve efficiency, and maximise social, economic, and environmental impact.
Align all initiatives with ADRA’s mission and values, transforming second-hand retail into a platform for meaningful community engagement and positive change.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Commitment to the purpose of ADRA, and to the achievement of our overall strategy and priorities with demonstration of our ADRA values and desired team culture lived out in all aspects of work practise.
Willingness to work within a Christian ethos with conduct that is respectful of the beliefs and practices of the Seventh-day Adventist Church when in the workplace or otherwise representing ADRA Australia.
A related diploma/degree and 5+ years of significant experience in project management, retail management and/or people management.
Demonstrated experience in strategic leadership and managing growth across multiple sites or operations.
Strong retail or social enterprise experience, with proven financial and business management skills.
Experience in managing, engaging, and motivating staff and/or volunteers.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
Proven ability to drive innovation, implement continuous improvement, and deliver measurable results.
Competence in using data and analysis to inform decision-making and improve outcomes.
Ability to travel.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
Experience in the not-for-profit or community development sector.
Understanding of environmental sustainability practices within retail or business operations.
Knowledge of faith-based organisational contexts and ability to work effectively within them.
Experience in scaling or replicating social enterprises across diverse regions.
