This is your opportunity to join a dedicated payroll team supporting a major public sector organisation during a critical period of system transformation on a 6-month contract that can be extended.

Responsibilites:
- Process end-to-end payroll, ensuring compliance with policies, agreements, and legislation.
- Support the Payroll Manager and act as 2IC when required, including monitoring team workload and assisting with management tasks.
- Liaise with payroll support, digital teams, and internal stakeholders to contribute to system enhancements and process improvements.
- Assist with Dayforce testing and go-live activities, ensuring a smooth transition and ongoing accuracy.
- Perform reconciliations, pay balancing, and ensure accurate processing of new starters, terminations, and redundancies.
- Prepare and review payroll reports, address audit queries, and support ad-hoc payroll activities as needed.
- Contribute to a positive team culture, prioritising safety, customer service, and continuous improvement.
About you:
- 3-5 years' experience in payroll processing, ideally in a large or complex environment.
- Strong working knowledge of payroll, superannuation, and tax legislation.
- Experience with payroll systems (Aurion or Dayforce preferred, but not essential).
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure, and deliver to deadlines.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to customer service.
- Team player, adaptable, and able to cross-train with colleagues.
