About the Role

As a leader within the health education sector, Flinders University is seeking a Lecturer to join our team of talented academics within the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

As a balanced academic, you will contribute to high-quality and innovative research and evaluation. This involves collaboration and participating in cross-disciplinary research activity as well as exploring new partnerships with relevant internal and external stakeholders.

The Lecturer is also responsible for the delivery of topics across the suite of undergraduate and/or postgraduate topics/courses. You will play a role in the development of teaching materials, delivery of lectures/tutorials, examinations, and placement education. You will also be responsible for:

  • Planning and delivering ethical, high quality and innovative research through activities such as quality publications, external grant acquisitions, scholarship and presentations that align with the College's areas of research strengths.
  • Delivering inspiring and innovative teaching informed by approaches that enhance the student experience and support students with academic and/or other challenges impeding their academic progress.
  • Focusing and contributing to supervision of research student programs.

Some out of hours work (including weekends) as well as rural SA, interstate, and overseas travel, may be required.

About You

As the successful candidate, you will be a strong communicator with the ability to maintain effective relationships with staff, students, and industry. You will have a strong understanding of the nexus between teaching and learning, research, scholarship and practice.

You will have completed a PhD, or equivalent qualification in a health-related field. You will also demonstrate evidence of research and/or evaluation experience, and exhibit the following:

  • Relevant and extensive contemporary experience in health or social care.
  • Demonstrated evidence of, or capacity to, undertake high quality teaching in a tertiary environment, including involvement in topic coordination and curriculum design.
  • Evidence of a strong research track record (for career stage) in an area of strategic research focus for the Caring Futures Institute.
  • Experience in coordinating and/or leading the activities of other staff (desirable).
