The Opportunity

We’re seeking a skilled, customer-focussed Procurement and Inventory Management Specialist to join our team for a fulltime 12-month contract, with the potential for this to be extended or made permanent. In this role, you will be responsible for leading all procurement activities (including category management, sourcing and contract management) and inventory management across a range of assigned goods and services. In doing so, you will achieve best value for money outcomes and maintain optimal inventory levels to support operational needs. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with our external provider of pallet, crate and bin management services to effectively manage all CHEP and VPS transactions, as required. Key Responsibilities

Lead all procurement activities (including category management, sourcing and contract management) and inventory management for assigned goods and services.

Work collaboratively with our external provider of pallet, crate and bin management services to effectively manage CHEP and VPS transactions, as required.

Proactively manage risks (threats and opportunities) and issues.

Identify, lead and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Build and maintain strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.

Provide procurement advice and coaching to internal stakeholders.

What we are looking for

Experience in managing procurement and inventory management activities, ideally within a fresh produce or similar manufacturing environment.

Sound knowledge of procurement and inventory management good practice.

Strong commercial acumen, numerical and analytical skills.

Strong communication, relationship management and negotiation skills.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Able to work reasonably autonomously while effectively managing a range of competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Working knowledge of FreshPack, 2ic, myCHEP and/or VPS’ online portal is desirable.

Qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Inventory Management or a related discipline (e.g., Commerce, Law, Business, etc.) is desirable.
