The Role
We are looking for a Finance Officer to join our passionate team in the CHSP-funded Home Maintenance and Modification Program (HMMP), a program that delivers vital subsidised home maintenance and modification services to older members of our community across Queensland.
As our Finance Officer, you will bring accuracy, efficiency, and heart to your work. Your responsibilities will include accounts payable and receivable functions, bank reconciliations, and providing support to our clients and the team. Your contributions will directly impact the success of SVdP's mission and the assistance we provide to those in need.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Accounts payable and receivable tasks, including data entry, processing of invoices in SMS and TechnologyOne, supplier statement reconciliation, and reimbursements.
- Additional accounts receivable tasks include sending client invoices, collecting payments, handling client invoice enquiries over the phone, and making outbound calls as required.
- Processing daily bank reconciliations and ensure invoices are entered in time for the weekly payment runs in compliance with SVdP policies and procedures.
- Provide account support and advice to clients and contractors as needed.
- Ensure all queries and invoices are handled within established timeframes, prioritizing customer service.
- Perform administration tasks, including collation of forms, filing, data entry, and maintaining registers.
This is a Permanent, Part-time position (20 hours per week) role based in South Brisbane.
To be successful in the role, you will meet the following criteria:
- Relevant Tertiary or TAFE Qualification or equivalent experience in Finance and Accounting
- Strong attention to detail and excellent time management
- Strong data entry skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable with the use of Microsoft Excel
- Understanding of and commitment to the philosophy of the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland and an ability to work in accordance with policies and procedures to promote the values and mission of the Society
