Registered Midwife – Women’s Health | Rural QLD Contract | November Start

Mars Recruitment is seeking experienced Registered Midwives (Grade 5) for short-term contracts in a regional Women’s Health Unit in Central Queensland. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive team environment, providing care across antenatal, labour, birth suite, and postnatal services.

About the Role

You’ll be working in a busy Women’s Health Unit, delivering high-quality care to women and newborns in a regional setting. The facility offers a diverse caseload and a collaborative team culture.

Contracts Available:

1 x 03 Nov – 04 Jan

1 x 24 Nov – 04 Jan

1 x 01 Dec – 04 Jan
Applicants must be available for the full contract duration

Shifts: Rotating 8 and 12-hour shifts (as per roster)

Hours: Max. 80 hours per fortnight (overtime applies beyond this)

Accommodation & Travel: Provided or reimbursed (details on application)

Mandatory Requirements

Minimum 3 years’ experience in women’s health/midwifery

Proven labour ward and birth suite experience

Current BLS certification

Competency in:

Manual and patient handling

Infection control

Aggressive behaviour management

Mandatory reporting (child protection)

Desirable Skills

Experience with ieMR system

Previous work within QLD Health or Mackay HHS

Additional Information

Candidates must be willing to undertake:

Online induction and mandatory training

ieMR training (if not already certified)

Any other training as required by the health service
