Mars Recruitment is seeking a skilled Registered Midwife (Grade 5) for a short-term contract in a rural maternity unit. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a remote setting, providing essential care across the full maternity spectrum.

About the Role

You’ll be part of a small, dedicated team delivering high-quality care in a 24/7 maternity service. The role includes on-call responsibilities and requires a confident, autonomous practitioner.

Contract Dates: 22 Sept – 19 Oct 2025

Hours: Up to 80 hours per fortnight

Shifts: Rotating 8 and 12-hour shifts (as per roster)

Breaks: Minimum 8-hour break between shifts

Accommodation & Travel: Provided or reimbursed (details on application)

Driver’s Licence: Required

Criminal History Check: General

Mandatory Experience

Proven experience in:

Maternity care

Advanced neonatal resuscitation

Ante/postnatal care

Birth suite

Mandatory Competencies

BLS certification

Manual and patient handling

Infection control

Aggressive behaviour management

Mandatory reporting (child protection)

Additional Requirements

Candidates must be willing to undertake:

Online induction and mandatory training

Any other training as required by the health service
