Join our headspace Hedland team where you will provide comprehensive clinical assessments and brief interventions for young people and their families along with designing and facilitating group wellbeing programs, activities and events. Additionally, you will facilitate youth focused engagement activities and deliver messages around mental health literacy along with building effective relationships with the community and other service providers.

This is a full time (37.5 hrs per week), permanent position and includes flexible and family friendly options, based is South Hedland.

What you will bring!

You will bring your patient and empathetic nature alongside experience in delivering person centred, trauma informed services that are culturally appropriate.

  • Tertiary level qualification in relevant clinical discipline including clinical psychology, psychology, mental health, mental health nursing, social/ behavioural science, social work, youth work or equivalent
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) or current full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • Demonstrated experience working with and engaging young people with mental health, alcohol and other drug, sexual health or primary health or work and study concerns from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience in providing a clinical intake and assessment to young people and their families.
  • Previous experience in youth program facilitation and coordination

The successful candidate must possess a current WA Working with Children Check and a WA Driver’s License. Additionally, the role requires a current (or willingness to obtain) National Police Clearance. Please note a police record is not an automatic barrier to employment with us. Remuneration and benefits

  • Salary starting from $109,416 per annum (inclusive of 10% remote localities allowance) + 12% super
  • Tax-free salary packaging benefits up to $15,900 per annum
  • Rent subsidy up to $300 per week and electricity allowance up to $1000 per annum available (eligibility criteria apply)
  • Additional 8 days of annual leave per year
  • Access to purchase leave
