About Us

Karlka Nyiyaparli Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (KNAC) is the Native Title representative group for the Nyiyaparli People, with approximately 400 current members. The Nyiyaparli People are the Traditional Owners of approximately 36,684 square kilometres of land and waters in the east Pilbara region. This area includes the Aboriginal communities of Jigalong and Parnpajinya, several pastoral leases, and significant mining operations. Locations within the Determination Area are places of particular significance to the Nyiyaparli People, including ceremonial sites, songlines, permanent pools, and natural resources. resources.

Position Purpose

The Nyiyaparli Health and Wellbeing Coordinator will deliver a major community-led initiative, implementing six practical recommendations co-designed by and for Nyiyaparli people. These recommendations address systemic barriers to kidney health, culturally safe care, and wraparound support services. Reporting to KNAC leadership, this role ensures that project outcomes align with Nyiyaparli cultural values and priorities, strengthening health and wellbeing in both the Pilbara and Perth.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role include:

Coordinate delivery of project activities and milestones.

Support governance through agendas, minutes, and cultural protocols.

Manage partnerships with Purple House, Kidney Health Australia, FISH, Wirraka Maya, and others.

Collect data and contribute to culturally safe evaluation processes.

Facilitate yarning circles, workshops, and community meetings.

Promote Nyiyaparli leadership and ensure clear, respectful communication.

What You'll Bring

Essential experience and qualifications include:

Demonstrated experience in project coordination and/or community program delivery.

Experience working respectfully with Aboriginal communities.

Strong organisational and communication skills.

Current C Class Driver’s Licence.

National Police Check.

Working with Children Check (WWCC)

Desirable experience and qualifications include:

Current member of KNAC

Previous experience in community organisations, partnerships, or health and wellbeing projects.

Familiarity with culturally safe evaluation or data collection.

Experience working with Aboriginal organisations in the Pilbara.
