This is an engaging opportunity for a detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform bookkeeping and accounting tasks in Xero, including data entry, journal entries, and trial balance reviews.

Assist with product costing, including allocation of materials, labour, and overheads, and preparation of costing reports for management.

Assist with preparation of BAS/IAS returns and reconciliation of GST.

Support payroll reporting, including Superannuation, Payroll Tax, Workcover, and STP.

Assist with monthly calculations of customer rebates and commissions.

Prepare workpapers and reconciliations for review by senior staff.

Provide ad-hoc support to the finance team as required.

Skills and Experience:

Proficiency with Xero accounting software

Understanding of costing principles (materials, labour, and overhead allocation)

Intermediate to Advanced MS Office skills

Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
