The Role
As part of our dedicated Collections team, you’ll manage day-to-day activities essential to effective debt collection and credit management. You’ll engage with customers to ensure timely payments, while providing empathetic support and tailored advice to those experiencing financial hardship, helping customers navigate challenges, meet their obligations to TasWater, and maintain access to essential services.
What you’ll do
Make high volume, early intervention outbound collection calls and respond to inbound calls and email enquiries.
Negotiate fair, sustainable payment plans within established payment plan guidelines/
Identify customers experiencing financial hardship and refer these to our Customer Support Team
Recommend next best actions where appropriate (e.g., skip tracing, field calls, restrictions or legal referral).
Take end-to-end ownership of assigned tasks and contribute to a best practice team culture.
Ensure strict compliance with privacy obligations, regulatory requirements and quality standards.
Maintain accurate records with strong attention to detail and integrity.
Provide front desk coverage as scheduled.

What we're looking for
We’re seeking a compassionate, detail oriented professional with a passion for helping customers succeed.
You’ll bring:
Strong interpersonal skills and confidence navigating sensitive financial conversations.
Experience supporting at risk or vulnerable customers with empathy and respect.
Proven background or understanding in debt collection, credit management or customer support (utilities/financial services ideal).
A solutions focused mindset with sound judgement to resolve customer situations.
Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment, manage competing priorities and meet expectations.
A commitment to ethical collection practices, privacy, and maintaining customer dignity.

The Details
This role can be based in either Launceston or Devonport and attracts a salary of $72,889 - $76,939 (inclusive of superannuation), negotiable dependent on experience.
Please note this role is part time 33.5 hours per week over 5 days.
