Principal Architect – Enterprise Testing Platform

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Architect to lead the design and delivery of a large-scale internal platform that enables staff to assess, document, and learn about diverse software testing environments.

This critical role will enhance testing capabilities, drive engagement, and ensure a consistent, enterprise-wide approach to testing. You will collaborate closely with architecture teams, engineers, and senior stakeholders to establish knowledge sharing, orchestrate tools and processes, and create a “front door” for testers across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and Build: Establish a centralised testing platform to support documentation, onboarding, and learning.

Architectural Design: Develop a scalable architecture and roadmap, aligned with enterprise and security standards.

Tool Orchestration: Support RFQs and tenders for testing products and build frameworks for adoption and growth.

Stakeholder Engagement: Influence and guide senior stakeholders while supporting engineering teams in delivery.

Continuous Uplift: Evolve and expand the platform over time, fostering a culture of improvement.

Documentation & Standards: Define templates and best practices for engineering, testing, and architecture teams.

Enterprise Integration: Ensure seamless integration within enterprise environments while meeting compliance requirements.

Skills & Experience

Proven experience building and scaling large software platforms in complex enterprise settings.

Strong knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud platforms (Azure preferred).

Familiarity with software testing environments, including automation and data-driven testing.

Expertise in architecture leadership and guiding high-level design through to delivery.

Solid understanding of security and cyber considerations within platform design.

Excellent collaboration and communication skills across technical and business teams.

Ability to thrive in highly regulated environments with strict compliance standards.
