The Opportunity:

The Senior Project Manager will lead the delivery of major capital works projects that shape the future of Holmesglen’s campuses. This high-impact role oversees all phases of project development—from planning and budgeting to procurement, construction, and post-completion review—ensuring alignment with strategic goals and compliance with regulatory standards. Acting as the key liaison with contractors, consultants, and government bodies, you’ll drive performance, manage risk, and champion quality outcomes. With a strong focus on stakeholder engagement, safety, and operational excellence, you’ll play a vital role in transforming educational infrastructure to support Holmesglen’s vision and growth.

To thrive in this role, you’ll be a natural collaborator and confident communicator who builds strong relationships with contractors and stakeholders alike. You’ll bring emotional intelligence, resilience, and a calm, solutions-focused mindset to high-pressure environments. Your ability to work seamlessly in a team, adapt to changing priorities, and engage diverse stakeholders will be key to your success.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will:

  • Own responsibility for the delivery of major works projects in accordance with approved budgets and specified timelines.
  • Represent Holmesglen as the primary point of contact for building contractors, consultants including architects, local government and other statutory bodies.
  • Oversee all project phases from project initiation, scoping, budgeting, and resource allocation to procurement, construction delivery, defects liability period, and post-project review. This includes leading external project consultant teams, managing external contracts, monitoring progress against key milestones, and ensuring effective change management and benefit realisation.
  • Engage with end-user groups to ensure that operational requirements are met whilst maintaining the design within the allocated project budget.
  • Interpret policy applicable to government project requirements and support the department to respond to project issues and stakeholder concerns.

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Degree and/or relevant postgraduate qualifications in building, architecture, construction management, engineering or similar disciplines with relevant experience and project management expertise.
  • At least 10 years’ experience planning, coordinating, and delivering capital works and maintenance projects with budgets up to $10 million, including tender preparation, contract documentation, and ensuring compliance with building legislation, OHS standards, and organisational policies.
  • Knowledge of the scheduling and execution of major and minor building works, applying knowledge of building management systems, architectural drawings, building specifications, and maintenance programs in line with master planning processes.
  • Skills to lead and supervise internal staff and external contractors, managing human, financial, and physical resources to achieve strategic project goals while ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • WWCC and Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
