ABOUT THE ROLE
The Bays Healthcare Group is seeking a passionate Theatre Clinical Educator – Scrub/ Scout to join our Perioperative Services team. This role is responsible for leading the education, training and professional development of clinical staff within the Theatre environment, which a strong focus on Scrub/ Scout practices. You will drive excellence in clinical standards, support continuous learning and play a vital role in maintaining high levels of patient safety and care.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, deliver and evaluate programs for scrub/ scout clinical staff.
Provide mentorship and support for our clinical staff.
Support onboarding and orientation for new theatre staff, including graduate nurses.
Conduct clinical competency assessments and ensure mandatory training compliance.
Collaborate with our Unit Managers to identify staff learning needs and develop tailored education plans.
Maintain the Learning Management System and oversee accurate tracking of education participation and compliance.
Promote best practice standards and support the develop and review of clinical guidelines and procedures.
Facilitate in-service training and simulation-based learning sessions in the perioperative setting.
Participate in quality improvement and accreditation activities.
Champion a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and professional development.
ABOUT YOU:
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills, experience and attributes:
Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.
Relevant post-graduate qualification in Perioperative Nursing or Clinical Education (or working towards),
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a perioperative setting with a strong scrub/scout background.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
Sound knowledge of current clinical practices, quality standards and adult learning principles.
Passion for mentoring and supporting the professional development of others.
