At McCartney Family Funerals, every farewell matters — and so does every team member. We’re currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full Time Funeral Operations Assistant to join our Underwood team and help us deliver meaningful service to families during their time of need.

About the Role
As a Funeral Operations Assistant, you’ll provide essential support to our Funeral Directors across all aspects of funeral service operations. This includes:
Assisting with respectful transfers of deceased persons
Preparing vehicles, venues, and equipment for services and viewings
Supporting with documentation and client-related administration
Ensuring funeral homes, and vehicles are clean, presentable, and well-stocked
Helping execute funeral services with care, precision, and sensitivity
Participating in a rotating on-call after-hours roster (including weekends)
This is NOT a mortuary role
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is:
Compassionate, calm, and respectful in emotionally sensitive situations
Physically fit and capable of lifting, transferring, and working on your feet
Well-presented, reliable, and takes pride in doing things right the first time
Able to work as part of a collaborative, professional team
Adaptable and confident handling tasks with minimal supervision
Committed to upholding our values of Care, Compassion, Community, Support, and Family
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
An Open Driver’s Licence with a clean driving history
A high level of physical fitness
Unrestricted work rights in Australia
Availability to work Monday to Friday with participation in after-hours and weekend on-call rosters
At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role (logistics, customer service, aged care, healthcare, or similar fields are highly regarded)
