We’re on the lookout for a skilled and passionate Cook to join our team at Footbridge Cafe, a busy and much-loved local spot in the heart of Brunswick Heads.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position in a fast-paced kitchen where quality, consistency, and creativity matter. You’ll be working with fresh, seasonal ingredients, creating elevated café classics, and helping to deliver the warm, welcoming experience our customers love.

Key responsibilities shall include:

Prepare and cook meals following the café’s recipes and standards.

Assist in preparing daily or seasonal menu items as directed by the supervisor.

Ensure food is cooked and served with consistent taste, portioning, and presentation.

Carry out kitchen tasks efficiently and coordinate with fellow staff for smooth operations.

Help control food costs by minimizing waste and using ingredients properly.

Keep the work area clean and organised, fostering a safe and positive kitchen environment.

Monitor inventory levels, store ingredients properly, and rotate stock to avoid spoilage.

Occasionally interact with customers when needed, such as getting feedback on serving special items.

Proven experience in a similar chef role

Strong skills in preparing breakfast and lunch service

Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards

Great communication and teamwork – we’re a small, supportive crew

Reliability, attention to detail, and pride in your work
