We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Controller for a temporary role within the Queensland Government. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for authorising and overseeing the maintenance and repairs of a diverse fleet of vehicles, including internal combustion engines, hybrids, and full electric vehicles. Your primary focus will be to ensure vehicles are maintained within predetermined cost guidelines, ensuring high-quality repairs and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and negotiate repair costs with suppliers, authorising vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring work quality meets industry standards.
• Remain up to date with evolving vehicle technology, maintenance, and service trends to enhance overall service delivery.
• Conduct in-depth assessments of mechanical and body repair quotations, ensuring accuracy and alignment with predetermined guidelines.
• Collaborate with Finance and Accounts Payable teams to manage invoices, ensuring seamless processing and payment.
• Apply Workplace Health and Safety principles while performing your duties, contributing to the monitoring and auditing of WH&S processes.

What We Are Looking For

• Proven experience in the automotive industry, with a strong knowledge of vehicle servicing and repair requirements.
• Skilled in diagnosing and resolving issues across a wide variety of vehicles.
• Able to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team environment.

Desirable Qualifications

• Automotive trade qualifications (Mechanical and/or Body Repair) are highly desirable.
• Experience with automotive service and repair authorisation systems is beneficial.
