The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and solutions-focused Compliance and Contracts Manager to join the Safety, Security and Quality Unit (SSQU) within the Office of the Chief Risk Officer. This senior role is responsible for managing the compliance, contracts, and procurement processes that underpin the delivery of the Department of Health’s new statewide security model.
Reporting to the Executive Director – SSQU, you will provide high-level advice and oversight on contracts, service-level agreements, key performance indicators, and compliance with legislation, policies, and standards. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring safety and security services across Tasmania are delivered efficiently, transparently, and to the highest standards.
Key duties include:
- Providing strategic advice to ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and national standards.
- Managing procurement and contract processes for safety and security services across the Department.
- Overseeing performance against KPIs and service-level agreements, and identifying risks and improvement opportunities.
- Leading the full lifecycle of contracts, including negotiation, variations, and dispute resolution.
- Providing expert support and guidance to the SSQU team on contract and compliance matters.
- Contributing to policies, procedures, and frameworks that strengthen safety and security governance.

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $128,102 to $134,832 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or high-level experience related to contracts and compliance management.
