About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for two highly motivated and enthusiastic Student Engineers to kick start their career with our Engineering Services team!

Gain hands on experience while studying and develop a solid career foundation with the support and guidance of our experienced and collaborative Engineering professionals.

As a Student Engineer, some of your duties will include undertaking proactive inspections on Council infrastructure assets; assisting Council Engineers in works inspections and surveying and updating databases. You will be responsible for drafting basic conceptual designs of road and traffic facilities, as well as ad hoc administration duties such as resident notifications.

About you

To be successful for the role you will be heading towards the end of your university studies, have a great attitude and are willing to learn and develop new skills. You will be a high achiever that can demonstrate:

Near completion of a bachelor’s degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Civil Construction or a related field.

Competency in the use of computer software packages including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, 2D, CivilCAD software.

Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.

Commitment to the provision of excellent customer service.

Time management skills, with an ability to balance competing priorities.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team.

Understanding of and commitment to WHS and EEO principles.

Current Class C drivers licence.

Capable of working within the physical requirements in section Seven (7) of the position description.
