Ultimate Travel is an international Gap Year and Adventure brand within the youth travel industry. We design tours for 18–35’s who want the Ultimate Travel Adventure. Our Australian operation centres on the iconic UltimateOz program, which welcomes over 1,500 Working Holiday Makers to Australia each year, alongside our award-winning small group tours.
We’re growing fast – and now we’re on the hunt for an ambitious Sales Manager to drive growth across domestic and international channels, and support our energetic team of sales agents, managers and group leaders.
The Role
Reporting directly to the General Manager, our Sales Managers will be responsible for building and executing sales strategies and driving revenue across office and online channels.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive sales of travel products, tours, and packages in line with business growth targets.
Develop, supervise, and grow promotional events, workshops, and Ultimate Travel information sessions.
Oversee client acquisition and retention strategies, ensuring excellent customer service and after-sales support.
Monitor and analyse sales performance, creating monthly reports and forecasts for management.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships with hostels, activity providers, and travel partners.
Collaborate with marketing to develop campaigns that reach our 18–35 backpacker market.
Deliver presentations to groups of up to 50 participants, inspiring confidence in Ultimate Travel products.
Maintain communication flow between group leaders, office staff, and management.
Take ownership of staff training, professional development, and succession planning within the sales team.
The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for someone with proven sales management experience in the travel, tourism, or hospitality sector, who can lead by example and bring energy to a youthful, dynamic environment. You’ll be just as comfortable closing a deal as you are developing a new sales strategy.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Minimum 1 years’ experience in a sales in travel/tourism industry.
Demonstrated ability to manage and grow a sales team, with strong leadership skills.
Proven record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Strong administrative, organisational, and reporting skills.
Confident public speaker and presenter.
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to connect to 18–35 backpacker audience.
Fluent English speaker.
Highly Regarded:
East Coast Australia travel experience.
Multilingual candidates.
Experience working in an international youth travel, education, or hospitality business.
