Location: ACT, QLD, VIC, NSW, SA, TAS (Hybrid working.)

Must be Australian Citizen.

Baseline Clearance Preferred.

Client: DEWR

Key duties and responsibilities:

Working with others to create artefacts and documents describing the current state of a service, the impacted users and key problems and outcomes. This will include Service Blueprints, personas and other industry standard artefacts.

Work with a diverse range of policy, business and IT stakeholders to co-design and document a future state that balances desirability, feasibility and viability.

Using contemporary user-centered design approaches to elicit and replay information in formats consumable by business and system users.

Working with Business and System Analysts and Solution Architects to ensure all aspects of a solution are aligned toward delivering the same outcomes and experience.

Identify opportunities to plan and lead a range of user research activities.

Working with UX/UI and Accessibility staff to ensure solutions are user centric and meet policy requirements.

Contribute to uplift of design capability across DEWR

Representing the voice of the user in delivery and project management teams.

Essential Criteria:

Business situation analysis – Investigating business situations to define recommendations for improvement action.

Stakeholder relationship management – Influencing stakeholder attitudes, decisions, and actions for mutual benefit.

User research – plan activities to gather insights into user needs and behaviours; conduct interviews, surveys, and usability testing with diverse users; analyse results to inform the design process.

User experience design – Producing design concepts (i.e., the agreed DSD design artefacts such as a Service Blueprint) and/or conceptual or low fidelity prototypes for user interactions with and experiences of a product, system or service.

Data visualisation – Facilitating understanding of data by displaying concepts, ideas and facts using graphical representations.

Design thinking promotion – Engage stakeholders in design thinking exercises to foster innovation, creative problem-solving, and provide effective communication and training throughout the design process to ensure all participants are aligned.

Desirable:

Industry education / certifications Business process improvement – Creating new and potentially disruptive approaches to performing business activities.

Measurement – Developing and operating a measurement capability to support agreed organisational information needs.

Methods and tools – Ensuring methods and tools are adopted and used effectively throughout the organisation.

Organisational facilitation – Supporting workgroups to implement principles and practices for effective teamwork across organisational boundaries and professional specialisms
