Position Overview:
Straterra is recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading Melbourne consultancy seeking an Engineering graduate with up to two years’ experience, to join a highly experienced consultant team based in Melbourne. The team provides a wide range of services to customers including project management, specialised engineering technical advice, HSE expertise, process safety expertise, regulatory compliance and enterprise risk management support. You will enjoy undertaking project work and collaborating with clients to achieve the clients’ objectives of safely and efficiently completing projects in the manufacturing and energy sectors, which may include oil and gas, renewables, and energy transition projects. You will learn, grow and develop as a well-rounded industry professional and specialist alongside a team that care and are committed to a quality service and approach.
Recent engineering graduates, or other tertiary qualified STEM disciplines with a demonstrated interest in process safety and HSE risk management and sustainability, are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:
Initially assisting other senior consultant team members working on customer projects including Safety Case workshops (such as HAZID/HAZOP/LOPA/SIL/ ALARP), Health Safety & Environment (HSE) management system assessments, development of HSE management plans, and regulatory compliance reviews, and general customer project support.
Assisting with the development, review, and update of Safety Cases, HSE management plans, environment plans and associated regulatory submissions for customer projects.
To develop working relationships with customer Safety Case or HSE management plan stakeholders such as plant operators, engineers of other disciplines and supervisors by making valuable contributions as a member of the customers team to problem solve and achieve successful outcomes.
Enhancing effective working relationships with customers, project and regulatory stakeholders and other consultant team members.
About You:
You have a graduate degree in Chemical Engineering or similar STEM based qualifications with a demonstrated interest in process safety/engineering, HSE risk management and sustainability.
Graduates with up to 2 years’ work experience in a similar role preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently whilst collaborating with others to meet shared project objectives and deadlines.
Sound interpersonal and collaborative skills and enthusiasm for finding solutions.
Strong problem-solving skills and proven ability to meet deadlines.
Self-disciplined with excellent time management skills.
Australian Citizenship or rights to work in Australia.
Hold a current driver’s licence.
