At the Workplace Injury Commission (WIC), we've helped thousands of injured workers and employers to resolve their disputes and move forward with their lives. We're a robust Victorian Government statutory authority that's making an impact.

As we continue a chapter of growth, we need you to join us as a Technical Specialist, Conciliation. In this role, you are a key member of the Dispute Resolution team; providing sound technical advice and judgement on pre-lodgement and late lodgement enquires and complex cases as well as leading crucial practice improvement and quality assurance activities.

With a constant eye for continuous improvement, the Technical Specialist, Conciliation will build strong internal relationships across WIC to collate, identify and implement key service improvement opportunities and contribute to training and development activities to embed practice consistency.

Along with your demonstrated experience as a Conciliator, you will contribute your understanding of the principles and practices of alternative dispute resolution and experience applying policy and procedure, and interpreting legislation within a dispute resolution jurisdiction or framework.

Who we're looking for:

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Accident Compensation Act 1985 and the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013
  • Qualification or significant relevant experience in at least one of the following: Alternative Dispute Resolution, Law, Psychology, Occupational Health and Safety, Social Science.
  • Mediation Accreditation or Conciliation Accreditation (or willing to undertake).
  • Effective facilitator, capable of translating and presenting technical material clearly to various internal audiences
  • Demonstrated capacity to act strategically, problem solve, commit to the application of quality assurance processes and cultivate change within a team, focusing on maintaining a positive culture
  • Able to champion change and build commitment of others to adopt new ways of working and behaving and drive a climate of continuous improvement
