Your new role

As a Maintenance Tradesman, you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of trade services across housing trust and community housing properties, ensuring homes remain safe, functional, and well-presented for tenants. This hands-on role involves carrying out repairs, installations, preventative maintenance, and general trade work to a high standard, while adhering to safety and compliance requirements. Working closely with other trades and support staff, you will contribute to the team's ability to deliver reliable, efficient, and cost-effective solutions for clients. The role requires strong technical skills, problem-solving ability, and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team. By ensuring quality workmanship and timely completion of tasks, you will directly support the organisation's commitment to maintaining long-term housing assets and strengthening client satisfaction, while also mentoring junior staff and upholding a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Trade qualification in carpentry, plumbing, or related maintenance field
• Proven experience in residential or housing maintenance work
• Strong skills in fault finding and carrying out varied repair tasks
• Current White Card for construction work
• National police check and Working With Children Check, or ability to obtain both
• Current and valid driver's licence
• Ability to work independently and manage own workload effectively
• Commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and client service
• Strong focus on safety, compliance, and attention to detail
• Willingness to mentor and support junior team members
• Reliable, proactive, and adaptable approach to daily tasks
