The Role
Due to recent growth at TAFE SA, we are seeking a Finance Manager to help strengthen the financial support we provide across the organisation. This role will enhance the level of service we deliver to the business and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic, evolving environment.
The Finance Manager - Education will oversee all financial aspects relating to the strategic and operational delivery for the TAFE SA Education Division, working closely with the Executive Dean Education and the Faculty Deans to deliver strong financial results related to Education outcomes, resource management and course delivery.
You will lead the strategic planning, delivery and evaluation of critical finance programs and financial advisory services. This includes leading a high performing team in the delivery of a business partnership approach for monthly reporting, forecasting and the provision of consistent, timely and relevant financial advice and analysis.
Developing trusted partnerships with TAFE SA executive, management and staff is a key aspect of the role. You will provide financial leadership, analysis and actionable insights into business proposals for both capital and operating. The role will deliver detailed budgeting and forecasting processes for the Education Operations Division, provide divisional performance reporting and financial advisory services to key stakeholders and lead critical continuous improvement initiatives.
The role requires a strong people leader who can further enhance the skills of the team, while improving existing processes to ensure we are delivering high quality outcomes for stakeholders.
Key Outcomes include:
- Lead the strategic planning, delivery and evaluation of critical finance programs, functions and advisory services, including forecasting and budgeting processes and the preparation of advice for Executive and Board reporting.
- Provide financial leadership, analysis and actionable insights into investment proposals, business cases, capital and operating projects, major contracts, policy and analysis on both revenue and expense items.
- Lead a high performing team in the delivery of a business partnership approach and the provision of consistent, timely and relevant monthly reporting, regular stakeholder meetings, commercial advice and financial analysis which satisfy the goals of the TAFE SA.
- Lead the financial planning, development, management and evaluation of critical projects including managing and evaluating resources, performance and quality assurance and monitoring and reporting on deliverables and budgets.
- Work collaboratively with the Finance Manager Operations to ensure operational alignment across both teams and consistency in regard to process, analysis and standardisation of reporting.
- Lead and undertake the interpretation and analysis of complex financial data and provide audience appropriate advice to non-finance stakeholders to promote an understanding of financial concepts and budget management.

Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to demonstrate having a valid DHS Working With Children Check (WWCC) prior to being employed. Applicants who do not hold a WWCC will need to apply at Department of Human Services (DHS).

- Some intra/interstate travel and overnight absences may be required.
- Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Development Program.
