Clinical Nurse Consultant Level 2 – Calvary Kogarah

  • Permanent full-time position
  • Remuneration: Clinical Nurse Consult Gr2 – $131,419 per annum, excluding super and salary packaging

About the role:

Calvary Health Care Kogarah is seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) Grade 2 to join our Supportive and Palliative Care Service. Based within the Community Health Team, this senior nursing role provides advanced clinical leadership and care coordination across both community and inpatient settings.

The CNC 2 will play a key role in ensuring patients with life-limiting illnesses receive high-quality, person-centred care, with seamless transitions between home and hospital. As part of this role, collaborate with Calvary Kogarah Palliative Care Unit (PCU), supporting continuity of care and facilitating timely referrals, admissions, and discharges.

This position combines expert clinical care with service development, staff support, and quality improvement. Working closely with the Nurse Manager, Director of Nursing, and Medical Director, you will contribute to the ongoing development of an integrated model of care and help identify opportunities for service innovation.— such as Hospital in the Home.

You’ll be part of a compassionate and skilled multidisciplinary team, committed to improving the experience of patients and families navigating serious illness.

What you bring:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia, Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Minimum five years full time equivalent post qualification experience, with at least three years full time equivalent experience in Oncology/ Palliative care nursing and post graduate qualifications in Palliative Care and / or Oncology.
  • Demonstrated effective communication and inter-personal skills across a variety of mediums and understanding of the practice development framework.
  • Proven ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice by the utilisation of evidence-based research.
  • Demonstrated skills in clinical teaching, competency in the use of contemporary information systems and experience in the development of specialty education programs.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in patient-centered consultancy with the ability to work independently.
  • A current NSW drivers’ license and willingness to use same as required for the position
