JOB DETAILS Permanent Full-Time position 35 Hours 5 days per week (Monday – Friday) Competitive Salary -$102,853.98 - $112,701.67 pa + 12% super
JOB DESCRIPTION
Are you an experienced contracts professional ready to make a real impact in the Circular Economy space? Liverpool City Council is looking for a Waste Contracts Specialist to lead the management of our high-value and high-risk contracts, ensuring compliance, maximising value, and driving better outcomes for our community.
This role involves:
Develop, maintain and apply Council’s Contract Management system to align with best practice, legislation, and industry standards.
Manage all major waste contracts from acceptance through to renewal or close out, including performance monitoring, risk mitigation and dispute resolution.
Provide expert advice to project managers, procurement teams, and senior leadership on commercial terms, governance structures, and supplier performance strategies.
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and strategic suppliers to drive performance improvements and deliver organisational benefits.
Develop and deliver contract management training programs for Council staff
ABOUT YOU
What we’re looking for:
Tertiary qualifications in law, contract management or related field, or significant senior-level experience.
Strong background in contract administration, procurement and dispute resolution.·
Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
Ability to balance compliance, probity and risk with innovative solutions
