About the Role

As the Waste Customer Service officer, you will:

Act as an effective liaison between customers and Council waste service contractors, ensuring accurate communication and prompt resolution of issues.

Respond to and resolve internal and external customer enquiries, complaints, and missed services promptly and professionally, facilitating a positive customer experience in line with Council service levels.

Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of best practice processes, systems, and procedures to enhance the waste team’s customer service delivery.

Manage the invoicing and procurement processes and undertake other administrative tasks to support the operations of the Waste Strategy & Operations team.

Support Council’s environmental goals by helping achieve waste reduction, boost recycling, and advance the circular economy

Maintain a professional phone manner that reflects Council’s commitment to polite, helpful, and efficient customer service.

What You’ll Bring

Proven experience and confidence in managing customer interactions professionally over the phone and via email, delivering a high standard of service and communication.

TAFE administration certificate or equivalent experience.

Demonstrated experience in providing accurate and efficient administrative support, including completing a variety of processing tasks within deadlines.

Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, contributing to shared goals and supporting colleagues where needed.

Desirable

Knowledge or Experience in Local or State Government or similar environments.
