Salary Range: $73,166.86 - $78,176.94 pro-rata per annum

Position Type: Part Time Permanent (21.75 hours per week)

Location: Botanic Gardens Visitor Centre

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Audience Engagement Officer to join our team!

What You Will Do:

As an Audience Engagement Officer, you will play a key role in strengthening the connections between our creative programs and the Cairns community. Your role will focus on establishing and maintaining strong relationships with educational institutions, arts organisations, community groups, and artists.

Working closely with programming teams, you will coordinate, deliver, and manage engagement opportunities, while leveraging audience data and insights to inform strategic audience development and program planning. Your reporting and relationship-building efforts will directly influence how we connect with and inspire diverse audiences across the Cairns region.

What We Are Looking For:

Relevant tertiary qualification and/or experience in a marketing, education or creative industries.

Current C Class Drivers Licence to allow for independent travel between council venues.

Current valid Working with Children Blue Card or ability to obtain.

Demonstrated experience in the arts and cultural field, particularly in the development and delivery of arts related projects, public programs and engagement platforms.

Demonstrated experience in broad administrative tasks including but not limited to maintaining accurate records including data entry, financial administration, evaluation, analysis, monitoring and compliance.

Experienced in working with diverse stakeholders, including education providers, service organisations, and Not-For-Profit organisations.

Proven ability to engage and effectively liaise with a broad range of stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and a broad cross-section of the arts and cultural sector.
