GPH operations cover a large regional geographical footprint in NSW and ACT. About the position The Housing and Accommodation Support Initiative (HASI) is a state-wide program that supports people who live with a mental health condition to build independence and participate in their community, in a way they choose to. As a Wellbeing Worker, you will work collaboratively with program participants and other stakeholders such as housing, clinical mental health services and families and/or carers to provide holistic care to deliver practical support to participants with a focus on the development of decision-making skills, social participation, independent living, healthy lifestyle, community access and building self-identity and resilience skills. The Wellbeing Worker maintains a recovery-oriented focus in the delivery of services working towards improved quality of life outcomes for participants in the program and provides cultural support and advice to the HASI team. This is a full-time, fixed term position until 30 June 2026. This position is flexible in location, able to be based from our Nowra and/or Ulladulla hubs. Full-time positions have the opportunity for a Rostered Day Off each month. This is an Aboriginal Identified Position - authorised under the S14d of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 We are looking for someone with:
- Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and be an active member within the Aboriginal communities of the Shoalhaven and surrounding area
- Qualifications in mental health, health or community/social services discipline (minimum Certificate IV)
- Demonstrated commitment to working from a recovery orientation, in line with the National Framework for Recovery Oriented Mental Health Services
- Demonstrated capacity to engage with and mentor people, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, to work towards their recovery goals in a structured and planned way
