Your new role
The Youth Program Manager (Out of Home Care) provides strategic and operational leadership of the Out of Home Care (OOHC) program, ensuring the safe, effective, and culturally responsive delivery of residential and community-based services for young people aged 14–18 years under the Northern Territory Department of Children and Families (DCF) program.
You will support children and young people with their daily living in a 24/7 home environment contributing to developing and implementing strategies to support positive behaviours and to acquire independent living skills to reach their full potential in their home and community.
The ideal candidate
- Tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, youth work, community services, or equivalent (minimum Diploma, Bachelor preferred).
- Substantial experience (5+ years) in Out of Home Care, residential care, or related child protection/youth programs and demonstrated knowledge of NT child protection legislation, safeguarding frameworks, and OOHC standards.
- Advanced understanding of child and adolescent development, trauma-informed practice, and therapeutic care models.
