Location: Stuart Park, NT
Type: Full-time, Permanent, Office-based
Reports to: Director; and Manager – Corporate Services
Salary: $80,000 - $95,000 p.a. + superannuation (depending on skills and experience)
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and culturally sensitive Accountant to join our Corporate Services team. This role offers the chance to work with a diverse portfolio of companies, associations, and Indigenous corporations - providing accounting, compliance, and advisory services.
We understand that no one comes with every skill on day one. That’s why this role is designed to grow with you. You will have the opportunity to rotate across different client portfolios and tasks, developing new skills and gaining exposure to all areas of modern accounting services.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, demonstrates initiative, and has a genuine “can-do” attitude.
Key Responsibilities
Core Accounting & Compliance
Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping tasks: reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, Single Touch Payroll (STP), and superannuation lodgements.
Prepare BAS, IAS, TPAR, STP activities, and support end-of-year financial statement preparation and audit processes.
Support clients to remain compliant with ACNC, ORIC, and ATO obligations.
Client Support & Relationship Management
Build strong relationships with clients through responsive support and regular meetings (in-office or online).
Provide training and troubleshooting support for staff and clients using modern financial systems (e.g. Xero, ApprovalMax).
Liaise with auditors, funding bodies, and external advisors as required.
Advisory & Growth Opportunities
Assist senior accountants and clients with budget development, cash flow forecasting, and reporting.
Contribute to the development of management reports and acquittals.
Grow into an advisory role, helping clients strengthen governance, systems, and decision-making.
Systems & Innovation
Support clients through transitions to modern financial systems.
Contribute to internal process improvements and the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Explore opportunities to use technology (including Power BI and automation tools) to enhance efficiency and reporting.
Team Contribution
Collaborate with colleagues to deliver excellent client outcomes.
Share knowledge and mentor junior staff as your skills grow.
Skills & Qualifications
We don’t expect you to tick every box, but success in this role requires:
2+ years’ experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
Proficiency in Xero (experience in other systems valued).
Familiarity with NFP and Indigenous corporation compliance (ACNC, ORIC, grant acquittals) or willingness to learn.
Experience working with Aboriginal corporations and community organisations (highly regarded).
Strong communication, collaboration, and time management skills.
Ability to work efficiently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
Self-motivation, adaptability, and a hunger to keep learning.
Our Commitment
This role is intentionally designed to evolve. As your skills develop, responsibilities may expand into tax, advisory, or project work, with opportunities to specialise or broaden your career path.
We are committed to supporting your growth while ensuring you have the flexibility and variety needed to thrive.
Employee Benefits
We are committed to supporting our team with benefits that promote work–life balance, wellbeing, and career growth:
Access up to 10 RDOs per year – with flexibility to choose between taking a day off or receiving a $200 bonus + super in lieu of the RDO.
Access up to $1,500 Professional Development allowance per year (after 12 months’ service).
Why Join Us
Be part of a collaborative, highly skilled, and supportive team.
Flexible, people-focused work culture that values balance and wellbeing.
Innovative and technology focused firm
Ongoing mentoring and support for CA/CPA pathways.
Modern office with free parking.
Opportunities to build your career while working with clients making a real Community impact.
Exposure to a broad client base
