A-Grade Maintenance is seeking a Leading Hand Plumber to join our growing team in a full-time, 12-month fixed-term role.

About the Role

Take charge in delivering high-quality plumbing maintenance and project work across Melbourne metro and regional sites. As a Leading Hand, you’ll coordinate daily operations, support your team, and ensure all works meet safety, compliance, and quality standards.

This hands-on role includes on-call duties as part of a rotating roster.

What You’ll Do

Lead, mentor, and coordinate a team of plumbing technicians across multiple sites, setting daily priorities and delegating tasks to maximise productivity

Manage scheduling of technicians, monitor progress, report variances, and adjust work programs to meet deadlines

Conduct regular site inspections to ensure all plumbing work meets safety, quality, and compliance standards

Liaise with the Plumbing Coordinator on Work‑in‑Progress (WIP) reporting and resource planning

Ensure all plumbers are properly inducted, trained, and compliant with site requirements and OHS regulations.

Diagnose and resolve plumbing issues

Install, maintain, and repair water supply, drainage, gas, heating systems, TMVs, backflow devices, Zip units, and DWV systems as required

Respond to service calls, including after-hours emergencies, with a focus on quality and efficiency

Work independently and within teams, supporting management when needed

What You’ll Bring

Registered plumber with at least 3-5 years proven leadership experience

Background in maintenance and commercial plumbing

Valid White Card and Driver’s License

Solid understanding of OH&S and risk management

Tech-savvy – experience with Fergus (or similar) and Microsoft platforms

Excellent communication, time management and attention to detail in all tasks
