THE ORGANISATION
Our client is a leading financial services organisation, known for its performance-driven culture and commitment to integrity, transparency, and compliance. They are seeking a Payroll Expert to join them for a period of 3 months supporting a period of change.
THE ROLE
Reporting directly to the Head of Payroll and partnering closely with the HR and Employee Relations teams, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and compliant payroll support in line with legislation, industrial awards, and internal policies.
Key responsibilities will include calculating entitlements such as notice periods, accrued leave balances (including annual and long service leave), superannuation, and applying correct taxation treatments in accordance with ATO guidelines. You will also verify employee data to ensure accuracy, interpret enterprise agreements, awards, and employment contracts to ensure correct payroll outcomes. In this role, you will be a key point of contact for employees and stakeholders, offering clear, timely guidance on a wide range of payroll matters. Working across HRIS and payroll platforms including Workday and ADP, you will play a vital role in maintaining data integrity and streamlining processes.

THE CRITERIA
To be successful in this role you will have a strong background in Payroll compliance, ideally gained in the financial services industry. You will possess proven knowledge of the Fair Work Act, enterprise agreements, modern awards, and other relevant industrial instruments. Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems, ideally Workday and ADP, is essential, along with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in high-pressure and fast-paced environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling them to validate data and resolve complex payroll queries. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, as is the ability to confidently engage with employees and stakeholders. A collaborative approach and a track record of working effectively across HR and ER/IR teams will also be highly valued.
