About the role

In this role you will support local businesses by providing a single point of contact to help them navigate Council processes and access support. You will work directly with business owners, traders, and industry groups to simplify permit processes, provide clear information, and connect them with relevant services and programs.

You will also help deliver business development activities, events, and partnerships that support local jobs and investment. The role contributes to Council’s Economic Development Strategy and plays a part in strengthening the local economy and community wellbeing.

This is a full time permanent position with a band 5 salary range between $80,490 and $89,430.

Experience and skills we’re looking for

Experience in economic development, customer service, or planning.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Ability to coordinate events, programs, and support activities for local businesses.

Experience working with data and reporting on program outcomes.

Ability to manage time, prioritise tasks, and work independently.

Understanding of local business needs and the role of Council in supporting economic growth.

Experience working with internal teams and external partners to deliver shared outcomes
