RESERVATIONS AGENT (FULL-TIME) | MERCURE GOLD COAST RESORT
A 292-room hotel, spanning over 3.5 hectares with significant food & beverage operations, two resort pools and extensive conference facilities, Mercure Gold Coast Resort is an oasis located amongst expansive gardens on the Gold Coast.
We have the rare full-time opportunity for a proactive and dynamic Reservations Agent to join our experienced Reservations team as our business grows.
Job Description
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- In collaboration with the Reservations Supervisor and Rooms Division Manager, allocate room inventory with a special attention paid to group reservations;
- Accurately process both FIT and group bookings, including availability requests, confirmations, payment schedules, within the required timeframes;
- Establish a strong working relationship with our guests and clients;
- Establishing strong relationships and accuracy in addressing guest needs/requirements;
- Monitor and report on market trends to assist the Director of Sales and Revenue Manager;
- Produce reports and statistics as requested, including business turnaways and group forecasts;
- Assist with the management of payments, cancellations, rooming lists, and terms and conditions.
Qualifications
YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS INCLUDE:
- Desire to learn, develop and innovate in whatever you do;
- Strong attention to detail, highly organised, able to multitask and meet deadlines;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- A passion for guest engagement, combined with a strong sales approach and passion for driving and generating business;
- Previous experience in Opera PMS or Opera Cloud preferred;
- Flexibility to working days/hours to suit business needs, including weekends;
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to ‘think on your feet’;
- Previous experience with Group Reservations highly regarded.
