We employee 350+ staff across Victoria NSW and NT. This position is located at our head office in Malvern, opposite Malvern station and with the city trams at our front door.

The ideal candidate will be an organised individual with demonstrated previous experience in a similar role and who can successfully prioritise their workload, be proactive and able to pick-up systems and processors quickly. The Accountant role is responsible for Accounts Receivable (AR) and backup in Accounts Payable, month-end reporting, year-end audit, general office duties and administrative activities as directed by the Senior Accountant and Financial Controller

Key position duties & responsibilities.

Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards.

Maintain the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entries to ensure data accuracy.

Ensure compliance with all taxation obligations, including GST, FBT, payroll tax, company tax, and BAS.

Assist in formulating budgetary and accounting policies to support strategic planning.

Prepare annual budgets and rolling forecasts, including variance analysis and financial commentary.

Monitor operating costs and business expenditure, recommending cost saving initiatives.

Support financial modelling, scenario planning, and profitability analysis for management decisions.

Prepare audit schedules, workpapers, and reconciliations for external audits, liaising with auditors as required.

Conduct internal reviews of financial processes and recommend improvements to strengthen governance.

Provide financial and taxation advice on business operations, corporate structures, and transactions.

Monitor legislative and regulatory changes in accounting and taxation and assess business impact.

Develop and maintain effective internal control frameworks and risk management practices.

Appraise cash flow and financial risks associated with capital projects and investment decisions.

Liaise with external stakeholders, including tax advisors, financial institutions, and regulators.

Prepare statutory and regulatory reports, including sustainability and compliance reporting.

Contribute to strategic projects by providing financial insights and analysis.

Qualifications and experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related field is required.

Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards, taxation, and compliance obligations.

Demonstrated experience preparing financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and management reports.

The successful candidate should have a degree in accounting, ideally with at least 1+ years' experience in a similar role, well developed written and communication skills. Expected salary Range $75,000 - $95,000 + Super
