The Opportunity

At My Fortress Accounting, we provide individuals and businesses with a full range of accounting, taxation, compliance, and business support services. Our team believe that business accounting doesn't have to be stressful or time-consuming. By combining detail-oriented accounting with innovative solutions, we simplify the complexities of compliance and tax responsibilities for businesses of all sizes.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team.

In this role, you will manage a portfolio of clients, providing comprehensive accounting services and strategic advice. You’ll play a crucial part in ensuring our clients meet all compliance and taxation requirements, while also helping them achieve their business goals through tailored strategies. Responsibilities include:

Lead and manage a portfolio of individual and business clients, providing advice on accounting, tax, and compliance matters

Coordinate, complete and review annual compliance obligations and tax lodgements

Develop and implement tailored accounting solutions to address modern business challenges, recognising opportunities for enhancing client growth and wealth

Provide proactive advice on tax planning, financial forecasting, and business performance=

Collaborate with our internal team of Accountants, Financial Planners, Bookkeepers and Mortgage specialists to continually improve our service offerings and deliver exceptional client experiences

Mentor and assist in the management and training of junior team members

Who We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance (CPA or CA qualification or on the path to complete)

Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax laws, and compliance requirements

Proficiency in accounting software Xero and MS Office Suite

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner

Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines efficiently
