About the role

Woodlands are looking for two (2) reliable and hard-working Grounds Workers / Labourers to maintain and enhance the outdoor areas of our multiple properties. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and take pride in keeping the grounds in top condition. This can be a casual (mostly full time hours) or full time permanent role.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lawn Care: Mowing, edging, and trimming lawns to ensure they are neat and healthy.

2. Hedge & Shrub Maintenance: Pruning, trimming, and shaping hedges, shrubs, and bushes.

3. Weeding: Removing weeds from flowerbeds, paths, and other areas.

4. Planting & Landscaping: Planting flowers, shrubs, trees, and other vegetation as needed.

5. Leaf and Debris Removal: Sweeping or blowing leaves, litter, and debris from paths, parking areas, and lawn spaces.

6. Path and Driveway Care: Ensuring paths and driveways are clear of debris and weeds and maintaining their appearance.

7. Maintaining Equipment: Ensuring all tools and machinery (e.g., lawnmowers, hedge trimmers) are well-maintained and in good working condition.

8. Fencing and Boundary Maintenance: Repairing and maintaining fences, gates, and other boundary structures.

9. Health and Safety Compliance: Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in accordance with health and safety regulations.

10. General Grounds Maintenance: Monitoring the condition of outdoor areas, identifying areas that need improvement or repair, and reporting issues to management.

11. General Labouring Work: Any other general labouring work as required, including retrieval of deceased birds.

Skills and experience

Candidates should have the following skills:

· Previous experience in grounds maintenance or a similar role.

· Knowledge of plants, gardening, and landscaping techniques.

· Ability to operate and maintain gardening tools and machinery.

· Attention to detail and an eye for aesthetics.

· Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Strong work ethic

· Time management skills

· Be able to work unsupervised

Tickets - desirable

· MR license or higher (highly desirable)

· Forklift

· Skid steer

· Excavator

· Chemical accreditation

· Slashing experience
