About the role

Teach 1:1 and small-group violin lessons, primarily beginners to early-intermediate (approx. AMEB G1–G5). AMEB exam prep and ensemble coaching are optional.

Hours: Weekdays 15:00–19:30 and Saturdays 09:00–17:00 (either/or, or a combination). Start: ASAP.

Locations: Box Hill or Mount Waverley (choose your preferred campus).

Key responsibilities

Build foundations: posture, bow hold, tone, intonation, music reading

Record brief progress notes and home-practice tips

Coordinate with admin on scheduling, make-ups, and parent updates

(Optional) Assist with theory/aural or ensemble rehearsals

Essential requirements (flexible)

Comfortable teaching beginners–early intermediate school-age students and/or up to intermediate–advanced

Strong communication, reliability, and a positive classroom manner

Valid Australian work rights (student visa holders welcome)

VIC Working With Children Check (Employee), or able to obtain quickly

Orchestra / Ensemble Conductor

SEEK Highlights

Lead a youth strings orchestra with strong admin support

Select accessible, high-impact repertoire (approx. AMEB G2–G8 range)

Collaborate with instrumental tutors to deliver end-of-term concerts

Key responsibilities

Repertoire selection, score preparation, and rehearsal planning

Develop ensemble skills: listening, balance, rhythm, intonation, style

Run efficient full rehearsals and sectionals with clear goals

Liaise with admin on logistics, communications, and concert production

Maintain a supportive, Child Safe rehearsal environment
