Disability Support Worker (Female)
We are looking for a compassionate and emotionally intuitive Support Worker to provide not only practical assistance but also meaningful emotional support to individuals facing physical, mental, or social challenges. This role is centred around building trusting relationships, offering reassurance, and being a consistent, empathetic presence in the lives of those you support.
At Auslife Care you will be highly supported in your role, our support workers play a critical role in promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life by delivering person-centred care tailored to each individual’s unique needs and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Living Support: Help clients with everyday tasks such as meal preparation, household cleaning, shopping, managing medication, and attending appointments.
Emotional Support: Provide companionship and emotional reassurance, building trusting relationships with clients to reduce loneliness and improve mental well-being.
Monitoring and Reporting: Observe and document changes in clients’ physical or emotional condition and promptly report any concerns to supervisors or medical professionals.
Safeguarding and Confidentiality: Ensure the safety and protection of clients by adhering to safeguarding policies and maintaining strict confidentiality at all times. Help people with mental health problems by offering support with daily tasks and being there to listen and encourage them. Create a safe and caring space where they feel understood and supported.
Your responsibility:
You will be supporting participants regulate their emotions, providing domestic assistance (House cleaning, washing and maintaining the house tidy), Assistance with meal preparation, emotional support and companionship, transporting client to appointments and community access—always with the aim of maintaining dignity, promoting independence, and improving overall quality of life.
The ideal candidate will have a natural ability to connect with people, offer comfort in challenging moments, and foster a sense of stability and belonging for those in your care.
