Identifibre Pty Ltd specialises in high-quality professional consulting services in hazardous materials, occupational hygiene and safety, environmental risk management and training. We have built a strong reputation for technical excellence and trusted service delivery including asbestos identification by Polarised Light Microscopy (PLM) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). We are looking to expand our Melbourne team by hiring Asbestos/Hazmat Consultants.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for specialists, located in Victoria, with at least 2 years’ experience in asbestos/hazardous materials consulting, preferably with a science degree (or similar). You need to be comfortable working across diverse projects and client environments and understand the risks and complexities of hazardous building materials. You are also motivated to deliver accurate, practical, and effective solutions.
Work requirements:
As part of our team, you will:
• Conduct asbestos and hazardous materials surveys across commercial, industrial, and residential properties.
• Oversee and supervise asbestos and hazardous materials removal projects.
• Carry out asbestos fibre air monitoring, and clearance inspections.
• Prepare qualitative risk assessments and develop hazard control strategies.
• Keep up to date with OHS legislation, Compliance Codes, and industry developments.
• Communicate directly with clients through meetings, calls, and report presentations.
• Collaborate with environmental and occupational hygiene teams, while also handling in-house administrative duties.
• Ad-hoc activities required to complete a specific job
Who you are:
You are someone who:
• Preferably holds a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Science or a related field.
• Has at least 2 years of relevant industry experience.
• Understands the uses and applications of hazardous building materials, especially asbestos.
• Has strong report-writing, organisational, and time management skills.
• Has an understanding of Alpha-Tracker or other hazardous materials software program.
• Can apply practical, innovative problem-solving approaches.
• Is proficient in MS Office and Excel.
• Holds a current driver’s licence.
• Has access to a reliable, well-maintained vehicle.
Licence/Certification:
• Working at Heights (Preferred)
• Current Working with Children Permit
• Confined Spaces Permit (Preferred)
• White Card (Preferred)
