ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Theatre Technician (Grade 4) or an exceptional Theatre Technician (Grade 3) ready to take the next step in their career.
In this key leadership role, you will report directly to the Theatre Nurse Unit Manager and will be responsible for the supervision and coordination of Theatre Technicians and Orderlies within the Perioperative Services Team. You will play an integral role in ensuring the safe, efficient and effective day-to-day running of our Theatre services.
This is a permanent, full-time position, offering variety through a range of shifts and days, within a positive and collaborative work environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The overall responsibility for the operating rooms for each surgical and endoscopic procedure, ensuring availability and functionality of necessary equipment and supplies
Coordinating equipment supplies, repairs and replacement
Additional managerial responsibilities and day to day coordination of technicians and orderlies
Orientating and training new technicians and supporting the upskilling of technicians
Coordinating the safe and efficient transfer of patients internal and external to the Perioperative Services Department
ABOUT YOU:
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills, experience and attributes:
Certificate III or IV in Health Service Assistance (Operating Theatre Technical Support)
3+ years of clinical experience across all specialties, which includes Orthopaedics.
A committed and supportive team member with the ability to work cohesively within a multidisciplinary team
Excellent Communication, interpersonal and time management skills
Demonstrate and model our values; Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence
