Location: Lutwyche – Brisbane Inner North and West suburbs
Employment Type: Part-time (contract to 30 June 2026, with likely extension)
Hours: 0.6FTE Negotiable, with some extended hours and Saturday work
Classification: SCHADS Award Level 4
About the Service
Communify’s Inner North Medicare Mental Health Centre (MMHC) is newly established. The centre offers support to people experiencing moderate to severe mental health concerns, as well as support for carers, families & kin. Supports are offered by a multidisciplinary team, including people with LLE (Peer) expertise of mental health recovery, and mental health professionals.
About the Role
· Provide intentional peer support to people who are connected with the MMHC psychosocial services including social work and clinical care navigation.
· Meet people for recovery support where best suits them – e.g. in their home, the community or at Lutwyche or Bardon Communify MMHC centres.
· Offer trauma-informed, strengths-based, person-driven support to people experiencing mental health challenges &/or distress.
· Support people to navigate systems of care, fostering self-determination & informed decision making.
· Work alongside people for up to 12 months, to support building resilience & connections, developing skills & accessing resources.
· Join a team of 5 LLE (Peer) Services Guides and an LLE (Peer) Team Leader.
· Weekly shifts on Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays, with potential future flexibility to deliver services during extended hours & Saturdays.
About You
· LLE (Peer) with experience of mental health challenges or distress, recovery & navigating systems.
· Ability to appropriately & safely share your LLE (Peer) expertise to build rapport & to support other’s recovery.
· Strong understanding of LLE (Peer) Practice, Intentional Peer Support (IPS), & Recovery Principles.
· Experienced in providing person-driven peer support, responding to distress & system navigation.
· Terrific interpersonal & communication skills, including advocacy.
· Enjoy working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment whilst maintaining LLE (Peer) values & principles.
Requirements
· Working with Children Check & NDIS Worker Screening Cards (or ability to obtain)
· National Criminal Record check (disclosable outcomes considered)
· Open Queensland Driver Licence
