About the role

DECHO CIVIL (AUSTRALIA) PTY LTD is seeking a skilled Civil plant operator to join our growing team in Sydney, NSW. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining a range of heavy machinery and equipment on construction sites, playing a crucial part in the successful delivery of our civil engineering projects.

What you'll be doing

Safely and efficiently operate a variety of construction equipment such as excavators, backhoes, loaders, and compactors

Perform routine maintenance and pre-start checks on assigned machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety

Collaborate closely with the construction crew to complete tasks according to project plans and timelines

Identify and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the site supervisor

Maintain detailed logs of equipment usage, maintenance, and any incidents

Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations on site

What we're looking for

Proven experience as a civil plant operator, with a strong understanding of construction equipment and machinery

Relevant qualifications, such as a Certificate III in Civil Construction (Plant Operations) or equivalent

Proficient in the operation of a range of heavy machinery, including excavators, backhoes, loaders, and compactors

Ability to read and interpret construction plans and site drawings

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment

Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the construction crew

Valid driver's licence and high-risk work licences (e.g. forklift, dozer, etc.) are highly desirable
