Casual / Part-time Support Worker:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated female Support Worker to provide social support, personal care and overnight sleep shifts to an engaging 31-year-old male with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, living in the comfort of his parent's home in Stirling. This intelligent young man has a love of sports, music and leading a fulfilling life with the support of an amazing care support team.

Position Details:

Key Responsibilities

The position involves a high level of personal care, daily tasks, nutritional support as well as manual handling for seating and positioning in the Client's electric wheelchair and bed using a full hoist (one person transfer). The ability to support this young man's volunteering aspirations and maintaining social networks would be well regarded.

The young man can communicate verbally, and assistance is required to support him with his technology including mobile phone software, navigating his laptop and assistance to set up the tv.

Must have a driver's licence to drive an automatic vehicle (Hiace van) to take the young man to sporting venues, movies, concerts, shopping etc.

Availability

The position offered is a regular (casual) 15-hour shift on alternate Thursdays to include social support, personal care and an overnight sleep shift. In addition, there are many shifts required to cover upcoming staff holidays, student exams and Prac placements.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Applicants will require a current Driver's Licence

Current National Police Check / NDIS Workers Check

Non-smoking

Reliable and punctual

Great communication skills, ideally first language being English

Ability to be self-motivated and have a sense of humour

Ability to step in and support other team members during their leave

No prior experience is required, as full training will be provided with buddy shifts to the right applicant.

Remuneration:

Competitive pay rates to be discussed during the interview plus Superannuation at 12%
