About the role
In this role you will lead the Financial Planning, Analysis, and Commercial (FPAC) team within the Finance function.
The FPAC team supports the business to achieve short-term and long-term strategic and financial goals in a fast-changing environment. Your focus will be on enhancing efficiency across the organisation by enabling effective decision-making through implementing structured frameworks, commercial models, policies, processes, systems. The effective use of data will be critical to success.
Through building relationships and partnering with the business you will connect strategy, goals, planning and execution. Critical to this role is an analytical mindset, business acumen, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
This role is a salaried, full-time, 12 month fixed-term contract.
What you’ll do
- Manage and mentor a team of 6 (business partners and analysts)
- Enhance SA’s decision-making efficiency by achieving operational excellence across all planning cadences, such as forecasts, annual budgets and long-term planning
- Assist improving divisional profitability and identify opportunities for improvement and optimisation
- Monitor, review and prepare the presentation of the management financials for discussion with the relevant executive member and their leadership team
- Prepare and/or validate complex business cases in connection with initiatives and business transformations, justify potential investment by quantifying benefits and identifying KPI’s
- Support the CFO and ELT members with ad hoc analysis and insight into the financial performance of the company and divisions
- Support business on delivery of successful financial outcomes through analysis and KPI monitoring
- Systematise financial and commercial models and reports
- Manage pricing, promotional, and commercial models
- Analyse sales, financial, and market data to develop pricing strategies and models
About you
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance or similar with a Masters degree favourably regarded
- Membership of a recognised Accounting Body (ideally CA ANZ or CPA)
- Minimum of 3-4 years in a similar role within a commercial organisation
- High levels of initiative and a proactive and forward-thinking attitude
- Experience managing and mentoring a commercial finance team
- Experience in modelling, budgets and forecasts
- Experience leading a transformation in the finance function, across people, processes and systems
- Strong Excel modelling skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative and influential communicator with the capacity to build rapport across diverse teams and influence outcomes beneficial for all stakeholders
- Experience with Dynamics F&O and Calumo is advantageous
