The Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia. About the role
The Case Manager’s role is to create a culturally connected and nurturing environment for families, ensuring Aboriginal culture is integrated into the program. They provide timely and effective family support services through practical outreach services through conducting regular scheduled home visits to strengthen parenting skills and respond to concerns present. Additionally, they identify cultural needs and offer information about community activities, facilitating family reconnection, when necessary, through referrals to relevant services.
About You
- Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose.
- Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities
- Demonstrated experience in working and engaging with Aboriginal families and children.
- Demonstrated experience in child and family sector.
- Good knowledge of the Family Violence and Child Protection sectors
Requirements:
- Valid Police Check, a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence.
- Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
