RFQ are currently recruiting a Full-Time Recovery Support Worker to join our team based in Annerley.
If you're passionate about helping individuals with mental health challenges on their recovery journey, this role is for you! You will be responsible for providing non-clinical psychosocial support to individuals with mental illness being released from South-East Queensland Correctional Facilities.
As a Recovery Support Worker, you will assist clients to achieve their identified goals and aspirations and develop professional working relationships with a range of stakeholders to achieve best possible outcomes for clients.
No day is the same, but it may include:
- Supporting clients on their day of release from various Correctional Facilities across South-East Queensland.
- Visiting clients in Correctional Facilities and supporting them to plan for their transition to the community.
- Working alongside clients to achieve goals identified in their Personal Recovery Plans, including securing accommodation, accessing financial support, reconnecting with positive social and family supports, connecting with relevant community-based services and resources, securing employment and/or training opportunities.
- Actively collaborating with a range of internal and external stakeholders to support clients with skill development, capacity building and community connections.
You will need:
- A degree in a human services related field with at least one year relevant experience, or less formal qualifications with substantial years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated previous experience working with people with mental illness.
- A strong sense of professional boundaries and integrity.
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a registered roadworthy and insured vehicle (minimum third-party property).
- Undergo criminal history screening and obtain and maintain a valid NDIS worker screening clearance pursuant to the Disability Services Act 2006 (Qld).
- Queensland Correctional Services ID – QCSID.
