About the role:

We are currently looking for a General Hand Weed Control to join our Operations team on a permanent full-time basis. In this role, you will perform a diverse range of tasks associated with Parks Area Weed Control, including gardens beds and median spraying, broadacre spraying and spraying of firebreaks, along with general maintenance tasks as required.

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Carry out a variety of tasks as set by direct Supervisor and in accordance with maintenance programs associated with Parks Area Weed Control, along with general maintenance tasks as required.
  • Complete all work in a safe and efficient manner having regard to own safety, the public’s safety and that of other workers.
  • Undertake herbicide treatments in highly sensitive areas with applications in accordance with manufactures specifications.
  • Operate and maintain all associated plant in accordance with Safe Working Practices, Policies and Procedures and the City’s Vehicle Policy.
  • Work unsupervised and with limited direction.
  • Responsible for quality and standard of work performed.
  • Assist, as required, in the maintenance of other areas within the City.

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Chemical Certificate – (AQTF Level 3)
  • Relevant experience in Herbicide Spraying and Application
  • Experience in associated plant maintenance
  • C Class Drivers’ License
  • Safety Awareness Training Certificate (White Card)
  • A satisfactory National Police Certificate

The salary for this position will be from $75,930.43 - $76,884.59 per annum (includes loading), depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
